THERESA QUINN, PHD

Theresa Quinn, PhD

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University in 1985, majoring in Psychology. I attended graduate school at the University of North Texas. There, I completed an internship position at Jackson Memorial Hospital, associated with the University of Miami, from 1996-1997. My education culminated in Masters of Arts and Doctor in Philosophy degrees in Psychology in 1998. Additionally, I maintain membership with American Psychological Association.

After graduation, I returned to College Station for a postdoctoral fellowship at Scott & White Hospital from August 1998 to July 1999. Upon completing my fellowship, I accepted a full-time position at Scott & White and worked as a psychologist for 21 years. I also served as the Director of Postdoctoral Training from 2000-2018. I left Baylor Scott & White to enter private practice in August 2019.

I am a generalist, working with and welcoming of all adult populations. I have experience treating a range of mental health areas including past trauma, couples’ therapy, and lifespan issues often seen in the geriatric population. However, as a generalist, I am not limited to these areas and welcome the opportunity to work with adults who may be seeking assistance in other areas.

I work from a psycho dynamic theory. I place much emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, striving to create a safe space where healing can occur. I believe each journey is unique; that each increases insight and can guide the therapeutic process toward the client’s desired goals and life changes.
